Turkey-Vegetable Joes Recipe

A quick and tasty dinner that is lots of fun to eat.

What you'll need

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup bulgur
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 lb. chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot
  • One 15-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 6 hamburger buns, split

How to make it

  1. In large non-stick skillet, over medium-high heat, saute turkey and onion 5 to 7 minutes, or until turkey is no longer pink. Drain and return mixture to skillet. Stir in bulgur, chili powder and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is combined. Add mushrooms, carrots and tomato sauce; bring to boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, or until mixture is heated throughout. Serve over toasted buns. Makes 6 servings.
