Honey and Grapefruit Salad Dressing

Honey and Grapefruit Salad Dressing

Prep Time 5 minutes

Some homemade things I find just too tedious to do on a regular basis (I tried the homemade tortilla thing a few times and then went right back to buying the store-bought version).

But salad dressing basically involves tossing things in the blender and pressing the button. And they taste SO much better.

This one is tremendously good and perfect for a winter salad! I served it with a salad made of baby kale, crumbled feta, sliced avocado, candied almonds, and grapefruit segments. Even my three-year-old gobbled it down and asked for more!

What you'll need

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup grapefruit juice
  • Dash of salt
  • Dash of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/2 Tablespoon poppy seeds

How to make it

  1. In a blender, combine the honey, grapefruit juice, salt and nutmeg. With the machine running, slowly drizzle in the oil until fully incorporated. Stir in the poppy seeds.
  2. Shake well before serving if separation occurs. Store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
