A Sign of Thanks

Total Time Needed: 2-3 Hours

Here's a natural way to greet your Thanksgiving dinner guests.

Materials

  • Nature objects (leaves, pinecones, twigs, strips of bark)
  • Glue (you may also need tacky glue and a glue stick)
  • Colored card stock
  • Tape
  • Twine

Instructions

  1. Have kids collect leaves, pinecones, twigs, strips of bark, and other backyard treasures.
  2. Glue the collection to sheets of colored card stock so as to form the letters in the message "Give thanks." You can use tacky glue for heavier objects, such as pinecones, and a glue stick for lighter things, such as leaves.
  3. Once the glue dries, fold and tape the top edges of the sheets over lengths of twine and hang your banner to fete your feasting day.
