Pampered Poodle Cake

Assembled entirely from two round cakes, this pink poodle is paws-itively perfect for posh parties of all kinds, including bashes with a spa, Hollywood, or '50s flavor.


  • 2 (9-inch round) cakes
  • 3-1/2 cups pink frosting
  • 1 pound sweetened coconut, tinted pink
  • 1 large S-shaped cookie (we used Stella D'oro brand)
  • Blue and red fruit leather
  • 1 malted milk ball
  • 4 hard candies (we used Stardrops)


  1. Cut and assemble the cake as shown. Use your hands to press the tail piece into a ball.
  2. Spoon 3 tablespoons of frosting into a ziplock bag and set it aside. Frost the entire cake, then sprinkle coconut fur on the poodle's body, ankles, head, and tail puff. Snip off a corner of the ziplock bag and pipe the tail.
  3. Frost the cookie ear and set it in place. Snip eyelashes and a tongue from blue and red fruit leather and press them in place. Add the malted milk ball nose and a candy collar.
