Watermelon Green Tea Punch Recipe

Watermelon Green Tea Punch Recipe

By JulieVR

Patio season means starting to get creative with drinks – I move from gin and tonics to mojitos, and the kids tend to want something a little more interesting than water. I’m not a fan of Slurpees, so we compromise with smoothies and creative fruit purees – watermelon, with its high water content and summery flavor, is one of my most used ingredients for summer sippers. Packed with antioxidants from both green tea and watermelon, this sweet and refreshing twist on iced tea is adult and kid friendly – and because green tea contains caffeine, you can swap it for a berry tea (without caffeine) for the kids.

To make watermelon purée, simply blitz watermelon chunks (scoop it out in spoonfuls directly into a blender or food processor) in a blender or food processor until smooth. This is an easy recipe to multiply for a party – serve it in a large pitcher or punch bowl, with frozen watermelon cubes to keep it cool without diluting it.
