Simple Beef Tacos for Dinner

By TheNaptimeChef

For weekend dinners we like to keep it casual and go all out with fun spreads like a cool taco bar. Once of my favorite ways to prepare tacos is with spiced ground beef, crispy taco shells, and a whole host of toppings. It is so much fun to prepare the tacos to our individual likings. I don’t get too technical when making our tacos, I just stick with a classic recipe and let us all enjoy the freedom to top them and eat them how we want. With any leftover beef I pile it, along with any leftover fillings, into a large line bowl and save it as a taco dip for the next evening.

Beef Tacos for Dinner

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sirloin beef
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 12 taco shells
  • Sour Cream
  • Shredded Mexican Cheese
  • Salsa
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Guacamole

Method

1. In a large skillet add the beef and break up with a wooden spoon. Turn the heat to medium and cook the meat until no longer pink. Then stir in the tomato paste, chili powder, kosher salt, and pepper. Stir into the cooked meat until it is fully cooked through. Then drain the beef and spoon into a bowl.

2. Set out a plate of taco shells and bowls with the rest of the toppings. Assemble tacos as desired!
