Total Time 1 hour Ages school-age
This craft lets little literary lions tote titles to and from the library.
What you'll need
- Plain canvas totes (we got ours at Jo-Ann for $4 each)
- Corrugated cardboard
- Duct tape
- Newspaper
- Foam brushes
- Fabric paint
How to make it
- Create a few different rectangular book-spine stamps from layers of corrugated cardboard taped together with duct tape.
- Cover one side of each with adhesive-backed craft foam for the stamping surface.
- Place newspaper (to prevent bleed-through) inside plain canvas totes, then set out foam brushes and a plate of fabric paint for each stamp.
- Kids can apply the stamps vertically to look like shelved books or horizontally to look like stacks.
- Let the totes dry for about 15 minutes.
