by Kathy Cano-Murillo
What you'll need
- 1 coffee can with lid
- Fake grass or fake moss from the craft store
- Fake flowers
- Plastic bugs and flowers
- Double-stick tape or white craft glue
- Rubber bands
- Scissors
- Sandpaper
- Construction paper or fabric
Helpful Tip:
Add spray glitter if you want a bit of sparkle. You can also add gems, or letter beads to spell out words!
How to make it
- Wash and dry the can, then sand the outside to create grip for the glue. Cut a piece of the fake grass or moss to fit the outside of the can. You want one piece to roll around the can, so it is completely covered.
- Use the rubberband to hold the grass piece in place around the can while the glue dries.
- Cut a circle of construction paper or fabric and glue to the lid of the can. Now glue flowers on top, along with a butterfly or two.
- Once the grass has dried around the can, remove the rubberbands. Use white craft glue to add the bugs and flowers all around the grass.
- Let dry before using.
