What you'll need

  • 1 paper plate
  • White craft glue
  • 50-60 cotton balls
  • ½ sheet black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Large wiggle eye
  • 1 sheet red felt
  • Pattern

Helpful Tip:

1. Cotton balls are inexpensive and can be purchased at the dollar store or any discount department store. 2. Cotton balls grab white craft glue easily, making them an ideal medium for young children. 3. Keep a damp washcloth nearby in case child's fingers get sticky.

How to make it

  1. Print out pattern.
  2. Cover paper plate with a generous amount of white craft glue.
  3. Starting from the center, place cotton balls onto the plate until it's completely covered.
  4. Cut two feet, a head and an ear from the black construction paper. The feet are just two small rectangles, approximately 2" x 1". We rounded ours on the ends. The head is half of an oval shape, approximately 2" x 3" with a small half oval at the top for the ear. Place a small line of glue on the left side of the head and ears and the top of the feet.
  5. Turn the paper plate upside down. Glue the ear to the top of the head, and then glue the head to the back of the plate so that most of it shows in the front when the plate is turned right side up. Also glue the feet onto the back of the plate. Let dry.
  6. Cut a ¾" wide lengthwise strip from the red felt sheet. Carefully tie the strip into a bow. Glue the bow to the front of the lamb under the head.
  7. Glue wiggle eye to the head.
