This Great Cake Contest entry was submitted by SandraBartholomew from Warner, New Hampshire: This delicious swamp cake was created for my son's dinosaur birthday.
What you'll need
- Yellow cake mix
- Lime jello
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Grapes
- Plastic dinosaurs
How to make it
- Make yellow cake according to directions on box. Prop clear cake/casserole pan on cookie tray using heat safe plate or such. You want it to stay at a gentle angle. Pour in cake batter so it pools at one end. Bake. Allow to cool.
- Make Jello according to directions on box, pour into a bowl and chill until it just starts to gel. Stir in fruit pieces. Pour into clear cake pan, allow to set completely.
- Add dinosaurs so they look like they are wandering out of the primordial soup onto dry land. Serve!
