Cinnamon Sugar Bagel Chips

Cinnamon Sugar Bagel Chips

Prep Time 8 minutes Cook Time 15 to 20 minutes

In my house we're always snacking but I usually have to get creative because we try to stay away from heavily processed foods - too many preservatives for my tastes. Let's face it, fresh fruits and veggies are the perfect fast snack food but sometimes we all crave something special. Like, when my daughter has a rough day I want to surprise her with a sweet treat but I still want to keep it on the healthy side. That's when these bagel chips come into play. Slightly sweet and spiced with cinnamon, these homemade bagel chips are a great choice to jazzing up snack time!

What you'll need

  • 2 plain bagels
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Notes:

For a healthier version, use whole wheat, whole grain, or even gluten-free bagels.

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. With a knife, slice the bagels into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon; stir. Add bagel slices and toss to coat.
  3. Lay bagel slices evenly on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until crisp and toasted. Store at room temperature in an air-tight food container.
