What you'll need
- Hard-boiled egg
- Multi-colored food markers
- Carrots
- Red bell pepper
- Yellow bell pepper
- Green bell pepper
- Baby spinach leafs
- Meatballs
- Vanilla wafers
- Dried cranberries
- Cake icing
- Seasoned rice or mashed potatoes, for the background
How to make it
- Fill in the background with seasoned rice or mashed potatoes.
- The hard-boiled egg forms Merida's face. Use edible markers to draw features. Make thin carrot strips with a vegetable peeler for Merida's hair. Place the face against a backing of baby spinach leaves to form Merida's cloak. A small round of yellow pepper is her cloak pin.
- Green, yellow and red peppers are cut to make Merida's bow and arrow.
- Two meatballs stand in for mini haggis (a traditional Scottish pudding made from sheep's liver, heart and lungs.)
- Make Scottish sweet buns from mini vanilla wafers with bits of dried cranberries fixed to the tops with dabs of cake icing.
