My grandma claimed to not like sweets. She was a great cook, but many of the things that she liked didn't necessarily appeal to my childish palate.
There was one recipe that we both agreed on - her oatmeal cookies.
She liked it because they weren't very sweet.
I liked them because...well, they are cookies!
Because these are a cake-y textured cookie that isn't overly sugary, they make awesome snacks and are best when crumbled into milk.

What you'll need
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Applesauce
- 2 Eggs
- 2/3rd Cup Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 1/2 Cups Oatmeal
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 Cup Walnuts
- 1 Cup Dried Cranberries
How to make it
1. Soften or melt the butter and combine it with all the wet ingredients.
Stir in the dry ingredients until the consistency of stiff oatmeal.
2. Drop cookies onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 until brown. Usually 12-15 minutes.
