Who doesn't love a Belgian Waffle? Perfect for breakfast, snack or dessert, this recipe will satisfy your craving for a crispy exterior and a soft interior. They are made with half whole-wheat flour and buttermilk, which makes them not only delicious but nutritious too! Go-ahead, top one with ice cream; we won't tell.

What you'll need
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 cup berries
- 1/2 cup maple syrup

Serves 5 wafflesa
How to make it
- Preheat waffle iron.
- Sift together the two flours, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in a bowl and set aside. Add eggs, buttermilk and butter. Stir together well.
- Pour 1/2 cup of batter onto preheated waffle iron and cook until golden (exact time will depend on your waffle iron), approximately 4 minutes. Place cooked waffle onto a wire rack and continue with remaining batter.
- Serve with berries and maple syrup.
