When summer kicks in, all we want to eat is burgers! Almost all of us in the family prefer turkey burgers so I like to try different styles. This one is a very creamy combination which has a touch of sweetness from the onion bread and the grilled onions. Try it out and you'll see why we love it!

What you'll need
- 2 lbs of ground turkey
- 1/8 cup of soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of thinly chopped onion
- 3 garlic cloves thinly chopped
- 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon of pepper
- Cooking spray
- 2 big onions
- 4 to 6 onion bread rolls
- 1/4 cup of cream cheese
- 2 avocados (small to medium sized)
- The juice of 1 lime
- salt to taste
How to make it
- Prepare the patties: Mix the ground turkey, soy sauce, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper together in a bowl. Make the patties with the mixture, as big as your rolls and about 1/4" thick.
- Place the patties on a grill or a pan, cook for about 5 minutes, then turn and cook for 3 to 5 more minutes until they are done.
- Prepare the avocados: Dice the avocados and mash them, combining the mash with lime juice and salt to taste. Leave some chunks: think a thick guacamole.
- Prepare the onions: Add cooking spray to a big pan, cut the onions in semi-thin slices and place them on the pan. Sauté the onions on medium heat, stirring ocasionally until they're caramelized. This takes from 7 to 10 minutes.
- Cut the bread rolls through the middle and place on the grill for 1 minute to warm them up. Spread the cream cheese on one half of the burger roll.
- Add the patty on top of the bread, then add some of the onions and some of the avocado. Repeat the process with the rest of the bread rolls and patties.
