Total Time Needed: 2-3 Hours
Baseball-loving kids will be all over this grand slam of a decoupaging idea. The theme here is a visit to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, but any motif will shine: your kids could pay homage to a trek into the Grand Canyon, or their Smoky Mountains summer camp, or that Route 66 road trip. We chose a shelf, but you can easily apply the technique to other furniture, such as a desk or nightstand.
Materials
- Wall-mount bookshelf
- Flat memorabilia such as postcards, brochures, shopping bag logos, scorecards, photos, ticket stubs, and maps
- Mod-Podge
- Medium paintbrush
Instructions
- Cut out images and figure out where on the shelf you want them to go. Working one section at a time, brush the shelf with a coat of Mod-Podge and attach and smooth each image onto the shelf. Move on to other sections, repeating the process until you're finished. Let the shelf dry.
- Brush over all the images with Mod-Podge, pressing and flattening them as you go. Don't worry if you get minor wrinkling: It adds to the charm!
- Let the shelf dry. Apply another coat of Mod-Podge for extra sealing, if you like.
