Marble Magnets

Total Time Needed: 1-2 Hours

If someone you know is crazy about animals, gardening, sports and games, or just about anything else, a themed collection of marble magnets can be just the ticket this holiday season. Or you can make a set featuring images of an apple and various school supplies and symbols to present to a favorite teacher.

Materials

  • Magazine images or photographs
  • Clear, flat-bottomed glass gems, 3/4 inch in diameter (sold at most craft stores)
  • Tacky glue
  • Small metal tin, such as an empty Altoids box (optional)
  • Round magnets

Instructions

Marble Magnets - Step 1

1. Trim your chosen images to fit the flat bottoms of the glass marbles and glue them in place so that they show through the glass. Decorate the cover of the tin too (if you're using one) by decoupaging it with similarly themed images. Let the glue dry completely (it will turn clear).

2. Trim away any excess paper from the marbles. Then glue each marble atop a round magnet.
