Magnetic Shadow Box

Total Time Needed: 1-2 Hours

Here's a practical way to show off small collectibles such as plastic critters, beads, or shells.

Materials

  • Several 3-inch round storage tins with tight-fitting lids (found at Michael's in the scrapbooking section)
  • Gorilla Glue
  • 3/4-inch round magnet
  • Pizza pan
  • Two 1 1/2-inch screws
  • Two 1/2-inch washers
  • Power drill

Instructions

Magnetic Shadow Box - Step 1

1. Use the Gorilla Glue to attach the round magnet to the bottom of each container. Let it dry.

2. Hang the pizza pan on a wall at a height your child can reach. We suggest drilling into a wall stud. If your pizza pan has only one hole to slip a screw through, simply drill another (drill front to back).

3. Finally, have your child fill the tins and arrange them on the pizza pan frame.
