Panwich - With Whole Wheat Pancakes

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup low-cholesterol oil
  • 2 1/4 cup Welch's White Grape Juice
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • For Panwich: Peanut Butter
  • For Panwich: Bananas


  1. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a medium-size bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Welch's White Grape Juice, eggs and oil. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, then pour in the buttermilk mixture. Whisk gently until just combined.
  2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Grease the hot skillet, then pour batter onto the skillet 1/4 cup at a time, spreading each cupful to about 4 1/2 inches in diameter with the back of a spoon. Cook the pancakes until bubbles form on the surface, about 2 minutes, then flip them and cook until golden, about 2 minutes more. Makes 16 pancakes.
