Inspired young fashionistas may be able to create one of these no-sew drawstring bags all by themselves.
Materials
- fleece
- 20-inch diameter bowl or plate for template
- 3/8- or 1/2-inch grosgrain ribbon
Instructions
1. First, cut out a circle of fleece, using as a template a bowl or plate that's about 20 inches across.
2. Mark and cut an even number of 1/2-inch slits perpendicular to the edge of the circle, about 1/2 inch in from the edge and about 1 1/2 inches apart.
3. Starting from the outside, weave a 60-inch length of 3/8- or 1/2-inch grosgrain ribbon through the slits, all around the circle. Tie together the ends of the ribbon. To close the bag, cinch up the ribbon.
Tips:
For a cute clothes drawer sachet, use these directions to make a small drawstring bag from lightweight cotton fabric. Fill it with potpourri or cedar shavings, then tie the ribbon tightly to cinch it shut.
