Some cards are just too nice to throw away - which was exactly the thinking behind these snazzy decoupage boxes. We chose our favorite cards to deck out the boxes, then stored the rest of the year's cards inside. (They also make cheery gift boxes.)
Materials
- Holiday cards
- Stiff cardboard box
- White glue or glue stick
- Decoupage medium such as Mod-Podge
Instructions
Decoupage Card Boxes - Step 1First, you'll need a stiff cardboard box. Craft stores carry a wide variety, but we also like cigar boxes, available free or for a minimal charge from a cigar store.
Decoupage Card Boxes - Step 2Cut images from your favorite cards and affix them to the box with white glue or glue stick.
When all the images are in place and the glue is dry, coat the entire box (except where the lid and box meet) with a decoupage medium such as Mod-Podge.
Tips:
For a sparkly look, try mixing some ultrafine glitter into the coating before brushing it on.
