Crafty Computer Frame

Crafty Computer Frame

Total Time Needed: 2-3 Hours

We've all seen decorative mouse pads, but what about the computer itself? This monitor frame, made from craft foam and dotted with photos of your family, will turn Dad's home or office computer into a much more colorful -- and endearing -- place.

Materials

  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • 2 sheets of 12- by 18-inch craft foam
  • Several sheets of 9- by 12-inch craft foam, in different colors from the other sheets
  • Foam double-sided tape
  • Wallet-size family photographs

Instructions

Measure Dad's computer screen and cut a frame from the 12- by 18-inch craft foam sheets to fit around the edge of the screen. For some screens, you'll need to fashion your frame from several pieces of craft foam and tape them together. Cut holes for any computer screen buttons, if needed.

From the 9- by 12-inch craft foam sheets, cut out decorations and frames to fit your photos (our frames were roughly a half inch wider than the photos). Attach the sides and bottom of each photo frame to the monitor frame with strips of double-sided tape. Be sure to leave the top of the photo frame open so you can slide photos in and out with ease.

Apply strips of tape to the back of the monitor frame and carefully stick it to the edges of the computer screen. Now slide the photos into the small frames.
