Total Time Needed: 1 Hour
This project involves ripping paper and swabbing on glue which made it irresistible to our preschool testers.
Materials
- Magazines
- Several small bowls
- Pencil
- 3- to 4-inch-wide cup or bowl Cardboard (we used flattened cereal boxes)
- Scissors
- Waxed paper
- Paintbrush
- Mod Podge (or white glue thinned with a bit of water)
- Hole punch
- Yarn
Instructions
First, tear colorful pages from old magazines, then tear the pages into small pieces. Sort the magazine scraps by color into small bowls.
Trace around a cup or bowl to make several 3- to 4-inch circles on the cardboard, then cut them out.
Cover your work surface with waxed paper. Brush Mod Podge or thinned white glue on a portion of a circle, stick a magazine scrap to it, then cover it with more Mod Podge. Add more scraps, overlapping as you go, until the cardboard is covered.
When the collage has dried, trim the overhanging pieces from the cardboard circle. Punch two holes near the edge of each circle and string the circles on a length of yarn.
